Most of us look forward to dressing up for Halloween every year, but no one seems to embrace the madness quite like the wacky and fabulous Heidi Klum. While the majority of the population is heading to Party City for a ready-made Lady Gaga ensemble, Heidi is somewhere with Seal and their multiple kinder putting the finishing touches on another insanely original (and just generally insane) Halloween costume. And the Project Runway host, who has held her own star-studded Halloween party for the past decade, somehow manages to top herself each year with an even more elaborate costume than the last one. Who else, you ask, could make a giant biblical apple costume look remotely sexual? The answer, my friends, is no one. With Heidi Klum’s hotly anticipated 12th annual Halloween bash just a few nights away, it’s worth taking a few moments to reflect on the Victoria’s Secret vet’s costume evolution. From her controversial Kali goddess garb to the possibly rabid cat catsuit, they’re all pretty out there. Please stop using the phrase “krisis sa Mindanao” o “kaguluhan sa Mindanao” on your news reports. Mindanao is a very big island. While a tragedy indeed happened in Basilan, it is only a part of a big land area. It is a disservice to all who live in Mindanao in peace. People who are not from Mindanao tend to think that there’s chaos all over here in the island, when in fact there is none.
If a bombing happens in Makati or in Manila for instance, you would not call it a “Luzon crisis or problem”, would you? You have to be more sensitive and professional because media has the ability to affect the consciousness of the viewers.
You can help the country achieve what it desires. Choosing your words well in your news report is matters a whole lot.

Marina Abramovic and her lover/collaborator Ulay performing “Death Self”. This performance consisted of the two artists seated in front of each other, connected at the mouth. They took in each other’s breaths until all of their available oxygen had been used up. The performance lasted only 17 minutes, resulting in both artists collapsing unconscious to the floor, having filled their lungs with carbon dioxide. This personal piece explored the idea of an individual’s ability to absorb the life of another person, exchanging and destroying it.
